Post License Education

Do Not Lose Your Florida Real Estate License for failure to Renew

Post License renewal courses for broker and salesperson are specifically designed to build on knowledge acquired during your pre-licensing education classes.  In order to renew a salesperson or broker license for the first time, active or inactive status, a sales associate must complete 45 hours and a test and a broker much complete 60 hours and a test, either online or live classroom presentation.  Thereafter, in each future renewal cycle you may take 14 hours of continuing education by correspondence, online or in the classroom.  The 14 hour classroom option does not require a test.  In all cases, timely renewal options for post license education are critical.

WARNING – If your license renewal date is September 2016, and you fail to renew, there are penalties.  For failure to complete your 45 hour salesperson requirements, your license will become null and void and you will have to re-take the 63 hour pre-license course again and re-take the state exam again.  In the case of a broker license, failure to complete your 60 hour post license will cause your license status to revert to salesperson.

Post license is not to be confused with continuing education.  For questions on involuntary inactive license requirements, contact an IFREC Real Estate Schools career counselor for your options at or 888-647-PASS (7277)
